![]() The older kernel appears to work better but the lag is there every now and again. I have not figured it out completely yet. I am able to select this kernel via the GRUB menu in my setup. Also, my keyboard and mouse do not lag anymore. When I load Ubuntu 18.04 with the previous and still available kernel on my system as used in 17.10, kernel version 4.13.0-39-generic, I do not get the XHCI errors. My keyboard and touch-pad on my laptop do not have this problem. I have noticed the following error on my system (multiple times): xhci_hcd 0000:3a:00.0: xHCI host controller not responding, assume dead It really seems gpu renders way behind.ĭriver: ATI Technologies Inc.Maybe you could try your system log. I noticed one new thing though - the lag is actually worse with scenes that have low complexity - seems like the bug is related to gpu command buffer flushing?Įdit: A new observation - in HL2, doing mat_wireframe 1 will worsen the effect. Thanks for the steam community hint, I'll try that.Įdit: Disabling steam overlay didn't help. Same problem - L4D2 and HL2 tested - especially happens when using flashlight.Īlso happened a lot when looking at a fire corridor leading to electric fence in Ravensholm - noticed FPS drop there, otherwise this seems not to be linked to FPS. Steam Runtime Version: steam-runtime-release-i386_ĭriver: ATI Technologies Inc. disabling Steam community - no difference.AMD 13.4 - it's the same + much worse performance I'm switching back to 13.3 Beta3.high and low graphics settings - no difference. After this command I have stable 60 fps and everything is smooth. The solution I use in TF2, HL2:DM, CSS etc. This happens on an older HW where is not possible to achieve 100+ FPS and FPS are more dynamic (50-80 for example). It's a delay between real mouse move and the game reaction. ![]() I guess it has something to do with AMD drivers - mouse is very slow. ![]() There is an issue in all Source games on Linux.
